Summer Vibes, Infernal Heat, and a Smoothie Bowl to the Rescue

A morning run followed by a protein smoothie bowl kicks off the day just right. Headphones on with summer vibes, infernal heat as company, but a fresh bowl to make it all better. Here’s what you need to make this antioxidant, nutrient-rich, electrolyte-filled, beauty-enhancing protein smoothie bowl. ​

Ingredients:
  • ½ Frozen banana (potassium, B6, great for muscle recovery, mood booster)
  • 1 Cup of dragon fruit chunks (fiber, vitamin C, prebiotic, calcium, phosphorus)
  • ½ Cup of pineapple (vitamin C, B6, fiber, minerals, enzymes, manganese)
  • ½ Scoop of flaxmeal (high in ALA, omega-3 fatty acid, fiber)
  • 1 Cup of cold coconut water (nature’s electrolytes, great for post-workout recovery, hydrating, antioxidant)
  • Bunch of spinach or kale (spinach here is a great option for iron consumption since iron is best absorbed with vitamin C)
  • Sunwarrior Protein Powder (Clean and simple nutrition packed with essential amino acids and over 17g of protein per serving. This vegan, low-carb formula is made without added sugar, soy, gluten, or dairy. You can do 1 scoop of this and another of collagen or you can do one of them on their own. I like to mix them most days, but that is optional.)
  • Sunwarrior Collagen Powder (while optional, I do love to add collagen powder for that extra skin boost) 

Method:
Blend until smooth, but don’t overdo it if you want a smoothie bowl consistency. Blend for longer and add more water or coconut water to turn into a smoothie. Either way, this mix is savory, nutritious, and pretty. 

For the smoothie bowl, I like to garnish with nuts, chia seeds, oats (and/or granola), nut butter, additional fruit, coconut, raisins, and seeds. I add a spoon of yogurt sometimes too for flavor and looks. Get creative and remember to adjust to your liking. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different and new ingredients.
