With the award season coming to a close, and the Oscars to look forward to, it’s always interesting to see how the celebrities will turn out on the night. From detailed couture gowns, to the perfect smokey eye, it’s a chance to gain some style inspiration. Plus it's fun to see how we can incorporate certain looks for ourselves.

The Dress

This is the starting point of your transformation. Everything revolves around the dress, so be sure to pick wisely. Know your shape and what suits you best. If you want the focus to be on your back, accentuate your curves by choosing a backless dress. If you’re planning to show off some skin, make sure the back is the focal point by keeping other areas classy and covered up.

The Hair

How you wear your hair is extremely important, as it frames the face and polishes your overall look. When picking the right hairstyle, make sure to base it around the dress. So if you’re wearing a very detailed, or patterned number, with lots of accessories, then an elegant up do will really make your dress stand out. especially when going for a strapless, sweetheart neckline. In contrast, if the dress is very simple, you might want to go for beachy waves, or lots of volume to add volume and character to your look. Liven up a classic monochrome look with a clutch with plenty of embellishments. A collar necklace will give your look some dimension.
