By the time you reach your twenties you probably will have either an official or unofficial bucket list. These are the things that you want to do before you die and you might even consider ticking off this list while you are still in your teens. After all, you might have a lot of free time through the summer months, lower levels of commitment and great personal health. It makes sense then to spend this time travelling, engaging in adventure activities and seeing all that the world has to offer. But there’s a problem. You might find that there are certain roadblocks in the way of you living these types of adventures. You may have put these blocks up yourself, or you could be a victim of circumstance. Either way, it’s time to tear them down. To do that, you need to understand what they are...Low Levels Of Confidence It’s true to say that low levels of confidence in yourself and what you can offer will plague almost every aspect of your life. It will impact both personal and professional opportunities that come your way. If you don’t have confidence, you are less likely to win an interview, and you are less likely to get the date. People can sense low levels of confidence. Of course, this might also stop you from frequenting places where you might wear bathing suit or be in a big crowd. You can miss a lot if that’s the case from the chance to snorkel on the coral reef to heading to the world’s greatest water parks. You might think that getting your confidence back is a matter of changing who you are such as your weight. More times than not though this won’t help and you need to look deeper. Cognitive therapy may be the answer if you want to know why you have low levels of confidence. Fear All And You’ll Risk Nothing Imagine you found a beautiful waterfall and saw people diving in. You want to do it too, but something is keeping your feet firmly glued to the ground. Now, this could be a rational fear. For instance, you might have been told to be a local that there are rocks in the waterfall or strong underwater currents. You might be a weak swimmer, and if that’s the case, your fear is rational. However, if the fear is irrational and you don’t have a reason for being scared, it’s likely you have a phobia of water. Particularly if a water park wave pool or even a swimming pool fills you with the same level of dread. This can start at an early age, and teen phobia treatment is available. If you don’t do something about this, it will follow you into adult life and stop you from getting involved in more and more activities. Remember, it could be a fear of water, heights, or even animals. Financial Failing Finally, you might find it’s the cost that’s stopping you heading to Africa or finally visiting Australia. Understandable, but there are plenty of ways to handle this. You can either travel on a shoestring, living on a minimum budget or find a job that allows you to travel to exotic places. There are various options that can allow you to live past you means without going into debt, ensuring you can take your next great adventure.
