Being comfortable in your skin is not something that comes easily to a lot of people.Because the world acknowledges beauty over anything else, we often question our looks. Am I pretty? Is she better looking than I am? The result of these battles with the mirror tends to lead to one thing: fear. People all over the world, men and women, are scared of how other people view them and it destroys their confidence. I am not ashamed to say I have felt self-conscious at times. I have wondered what it would be like to be as pretty as the person sitting next me. I have struggled with coming to terms with my individuality. At the minute, I am a stronger person for realizing who I am and being fine with it because, after all, who else can I be? But, I know there are more people out there that cannot come to terms with their fears and their insecurities. Sometimes, advice like ‘show them who’s boss’ and ‘take every day at a time’ just doesn’t cut it because you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. So, here are a few tips I think will help you tackle your fears and help you start to feel confident once more. Go on, you deserve it.Reconsider Your Image If you don’t like what you see in the mirror, change it into something that you do like. The important thing to remember is not to change your appearance for the people who made you feel this way in the beginning. It is to change it for you. Whatever look you go for, make sure it is one that you are comfortable with and expresses your individuality. Don’t Let The B******s Get Your Down You can probably fill in the blanks by yourself! We are far too preoccupied with what people think, and that can have dangerous consequences. Apart from a severe lack of confidence, it also leads to stress. Stress can have negative impacts on your health and even lead to conditions such as hair loss. Just check out http://www.frizztips.com for more information. Obviously, the effects of stress are just going to lead to more problems. Remove yourself from the conversation by developing a thick skin. That way, words and stress cannot pierce your armour. image source: link Surround Yourself With Positivity
It is hard to recover from a negative experience without some positivity. Positivity, when you are feeling low, is not easy to come across. That is, unless, you surround yourself with positive people. Your friends and family are the people who love you the most in the world. You love them because they love you unconditionally. They will always support you, no matter what the situation. A support group like that puts perspective back into life. List Your Good Points Some people cannot see the forest for the trees. Everyone has personality traits that make them a wonderful person. The majority of us just don’t like to admit for fear of seeming arrogant or cocky. Well, there is nothing wrong with owning your positive traits. Make a mental list or write them down so you have physical proof of what makes you special.

Life is full of ups and downs; nothing is ever smooth sailing. One of the downs we’ll all experience is a breakup. Unless you’re lucky, you’re probably going to go through at least a couple of breakups in your life, and they don’t get any easier. I’ve got three tips that can help you deal with a breakup:(Image from pdpics http://goo.gl/vb52oH) Try And Talk Things Through
If your breakup happened out of the blue, it could be very hard for you to handle. You don’t know what went wrong or if you did anything to contribute to it. Sometimes anger arises after an unexpected breakup. So much that revenge seems to be an only option. I’m not here to tell you how to make your ex jealous, I’m here to suggest you talk to them. Text them, call them, ask to meet up again. Go for coffee and try to talk things through. If you get the chance to hash things out and have a long talk, it can make you feel a lot better. You will have a proper understanding of the breakup and it will be easier for you to move on. There’s nothing worse than the feeling of not getting closure. Not knowing why you broke up is horrible and can make you feel so much worse. By talking things through, you get that closure. You can start to put this relationship behind you and look to the future. Think Of The Bigger Picture A lot of the times, a breakup can seem like the end of the world. Teenagers can be guilty of maybe overreacting when they go through a breakup. Many teenagers thinks they’re in love and that they’ve found the one. I don’t want to suggest that teenagers aren’t actually upset when their relationships end; I know they are. But, there are so many emotions and hormones at that age that it seems like a bigger deal than it actually is. When you take a step back and think of the bigger picture, things seem a lot better. Remember, you’re not the only person to suffer a breakup, and you won’t be the last. People all over the world are getting their hearts broken, but they always bounce back. It may seem like your world is crumbling down, but keep your head up and your eyes to the sky. Think about all the people in the world that have horrible things happening to them, and yet they make it through every day. You’ll realize how privileged you are and that, in the grand scheme of things, a breakup isn’t a huge deal. Don’t let it get you down. Instead, think positively and remember it’s only a minor smudge of ink on the pages of the book of life. Don’t Bottle Your Emotions I’ll keep this last tip short and sweet. When you go through a breakup, you will probably be very emotional. The immediate aftermath of a breakup is usually filled with tears and crying. What’s my advice? Let it all out. Just let the tears flow and cry til you can’t cry no more. Don’t keep your emotions bottled up, give into them, let them out. Keeping them bottled up will only make you feel worse. One out of every four children admits to being bullied at school.
So, you should never feel like you’re in it alone. It’s a nasty thing that has become a fact of life. There are lots of organizations out there that try to rectify the problem. However, none of them will manage to stamp it out completely. With that in mind, people going through this situation need to first understand the problem is not you, but rather the one causing the damage. Bullies are usually bullied at home and/or are very insecure. Hence, they bring out their frustrations on others. While it should not justify their behavior, it definitely helps us understand that the problem is not the person being bullied. Here are simply steps to ease the issue and hopefully put an end to it properly.
Most women and girls struggle with having confidence in their body at some point in their lives. You might worry that you're overweight, dislike your nose or wish you were curvier. If you don't have much body confidence, you aren't alone in that. But it's not an ideal situation, and you should be able to feel content with what you look like. You can raise your body confidence by doing several things, from changing your appearance to your thinking. However if you want to approach it, you don't have to keep thinking as you have been. Try some of these techniques to love your body more.Look After Yourself One of the ways you can help yourself love your body is by treating it well. However, instead of focusing on what it looks like, you should think about what you can do with it. Eating well and exercising can go a long way to helping you feel better about yourself. If you feel good on the inside, you can like yourself more on the outside. Think about what your body is capable of, from walking to class to participating in a fitness session at the gym. Treat Yourself Realizing that you're worthy of pampering can help you to feel more confident in your body. Don't just put your body through its paces, but give it a treat now and then too. Maybe you can go to a spa for a massage or a facial. You could have a long bath at home, paint your nails or moisturize all over with body lotion. Treat yourself to some new clothes too, or have your hair or makeup done to help you feel great. image source: Eva Rinaldi Make Some Changes
Even though you might feel confident with your body, you may not like it. Perhaps you're happy to show it off however you like, but you still want to make some changes. Some people might do this by losing weight, getting a haircut or wearing makeup. Another option is to have plastic surgery. However, this is something you have to think about very carefully. Before having any procedures, you should find an excellent surgeon to discuss your options. But before even considering this, think truly about the real natural possibilities you have, which are endless. Because confidence starts on the inside and project itself on the outside! Think Positively Being body confident is all about the way you think and treat yourself. Negative thoughts can have a tremendous impact on your body image. It's important to acknowledge these opinions of yourself so that you can banish them. If you find yourself having negative thoughts about your friends too, it's vital to stop it straight away. Choose Your Friends Carefully Your friends can have a huge influence on your body confidence. The wrong comments from them can send you into a tailspin. And if you're feeling less than confident, you can imagine that your friends are thinking bad things about you, even when they're not. So choose your friends carefully, and make sure they only have positive things to say about your body. This includes yourself too! Don't put up with low body confidence. If you want to feel better about yourself, start making some positive changes now.
There are hundreds of ways that you can show someone you love them using your actions. You don't have to be good with words to do it. Try some of these techniques to show someone that you love them.Do Something Small and Inconsequential Sometimes it's the tiny things that can make all the difference. Showing someone how much you care for them doesn't have to involve huge gestures. There are so many small opportunities you can take throughout the day. For example, you can bring them coffee in the morning or have their cereal ready when they come downstairs. You could give them some tissues when they're ill or take the trash out when it's their turn. They might not seem like a big deal, but lots of tiny gestures can add up and are sure to be appreciated. Be There for Them Listening is a skill that a lot of people lack. Some people pretend to listen, but they're not really paying attention. If you want to show someone that you're there for them, active listening is important. You need to take in what they're saying and know when it's the right time to offer comfort or advice. Different situations call for different reactions. Sometimes the person you love might just want a shoulder to cry on. And sometimes they might be looking for advice and support. If you're not sure, you can always just ask. Make it clear what your role is as the listener so that you can fulfil it. Share a Romantic Quote with Them
If you struggle to find the right words to express yourself, you can always use someone else's. There are thousands of ways that authors, poets and everyday people have expressed the sentiments that you want to reveal. You can look for quotes, poems and speeches that you wish to share with the person you love. For example, on CuteQuotez.com you can search for romantic, flirty or even sad quotes to share with people. You could share them on social media, print them out or write them on a card. Perhaps you could even use them to create some artwork with the quote incorporated. Get Them a Gift Everyone enjoys receiving a gift, whether it's large or small. It doesn't have to be a special occasion, and you don't have to buy them anything huge. It could be anything from their favorite chocolate bar to a handmade present. What's important is that you're thinking of them, and showing them that they've been on your mind. Cook Them a Meal There's something about home cooked food that can charm almost anyone. Just like making someone a gift, you have to put thought and effort into cooking for them. If you want to make someone something to eat, you don't need to be a whizz in the kitchen. Even the most hopeless of cooks can make something simple. You could make them breakfast in bed or bring them an epic sandwich to eat at lunchtime. People have expressed their love through food for hundreds of years and will continue to do so. Let Go of Disagreements Sometimes the best way to show someone you love them is to learn to forgive and forget. It can be very tempting to hold onto a grudge, but letting go of one can feel much better. Forgiving someone for something that has made you upset or angry is one of the best ways you can show that you love them. It's also a good idea to sometimes let them have their own way on small matters. Just make sure the relationship is balanced and you get your way sometimes too. We are different so we we won’t always agree on everything. Learning to compromise, adapt, and agree to disagree is important for relationships. Do Something They Enjoy The things the people you love like doing aren't always what you enjoy. But spending time with them to do the things they love is a great way of showing you can be there for them. You might not like playing video games, watching French movies or going to their football games. But they will love that you're prepared to do it for them so that you can spend time together. You don't need to be good with words to show someone you love them. Find ways to do it with gestures and they can have more meaning.
Doctors are pretty good at helping us through those hormonal problems we all suffer from time to time. Blemishes and acne can be really embarrassing so prescription creams can be quite helpful. Periods can be a bit of a problem too. Most doctors will tell you that a good diet can help all these problems. So what goes into a good diet during the teens?
It is thought that a good diet and plenty of exercise now can help prevent you becoming overweight later in life. To be honest, though, how many teens can get through a day without a big hit of sugar from a soda or something? There are healthier alternatives to keep your energy levels up when you’re feeling tired. Pushing yourself into some exercise can clear the cobwebs. Nuts and dried fruit can help give you that quick boost you need too. Fruit is absolutely packed with natural sugars. These are a healthier alternative to processed sugars in candies and soda. Vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals to help stabilize those wayward hormones too. Avocados are thought to be particularly helpful for girls each month. Whole wheat bread can help at those times to reduce the feeling of emptiness, thanks to the starch. You may be tired, and you may be busy, but looking after your body now will pay dividends later in life. It’s going through a lot of changes, but you really can help shape how it ends up in adulthood. Take care of you now for a healthy future. Attending college is like a transition from teens to adulthood. This is where we decide who we are going to be in life. Although we change throughout our lives and events may change our perspective on many things, college is a place for preparation and exploration. A big part of this is choosing what college to apply for and getting into your dream school. Some of us might have decided what college we wanted to go to when we were ten years old. Others might be trying to follow in our parents footsteps, and some may be keen to make their own way in the world. But whatever path you take, first you need to get through the door. What does that involve?Getting The Grades All colleges have cut off grades that you need to achieve to be even considered. For this reason, it is important that you don't slack off in your final years of school. They say school is the best years of your life and maybe that's true. But, it's also the time when you have to work your hardest to get the life you want. You should try to slip into a constant routine of studying. The average school student preparing for college should be completing around ninety hours of studying per week. Some schools even make teens sign a contract to say they are going to complete this level of study. But remember, when you are studying you need to take a twenty-minute break every hour. Otherwise, you are going to get too stressed. Writing The Letter When you write to the colleges you want to attend or in some cases, send a video, it's about selling yourself. You must not sell yourself short. Think of the traits in your personality and the skills that you have that make you unique. Then hone in on them and market yourself based on what makes you different. Colleges are not looking for students that fit in. They are looking for the ones who were born to stand out, to make an impression and become the next big thing. It's all about showing who you are and why you would be a good addition to their student body. These are just a couple of tricks for college admissions. Look The Part Eventually, you will be asking to attend a meeting or an open day. You might meet the head of the college or an entire board. You may even be introduced to some of the lecturers that will be teaching you in the years to come. When you meet them, you must dress to impress. Individuality is great on paper but in person, you have to make a good first impression, and that's all about looking professional. You also need to show that you have confidence so be sure to shake their hands with a medium grip and make eye contact. Body language says a great deal about you so don't slouch. You need to trick them into thinking that you are no longer a teenager. You are an adult, ready to enter the world of professionals...
