One of the hardest things to do as an adult is to break a bad habit. Whether you like to have a drink every weekend or you’ve been smoking for years, the sooner you start thinking about breaking your bad habits the better. Whilst it won’t be easy, there are a couple of trips and tricks you can pick up to help you succeed.

With that in mind, here are 5 things you might want to consider if you want to break a bad habit:

What Habits Do You Want To Break?
One of the first things you need to do when it comes to breaking a habit is to decide what habits it is you want to break. From snacking after 9 pm to skipping the gym in the mornings, the first step is deciding you’re ready to break the habit. If it helps, write your good intentions down.

For guidance when it comes to breaking bad habits, you can visit this site here.

Can You Find Alternative Ways To Cope?
Once you know what habits it is you want to break, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to break them. One of the best ways, of course, is to think about what you can when you get the ‘urge’ to break your habit. Whether that means vaping instead of smoking or eating fruit instead of chocolate, you need to find a way to take your mind off your bad habits. If you’re looking for tips when it comes to vaping rather than smoking, you might want to consider using ejuice that doesn’t contain nicotine.

How Soon Do You Want To Break Your Habit?
Another important thing t consider is when you want to break your habit by. Although it may be difficult to work to a time limit, having something in place will definitely help you stay focused. For a guide to setting time-based goals, you can visit this site here.

Do You Need To Speak To A Professional?
If you’re struggling when it comes to breaking your bad habits, why not speak to a professional? Not only will they be able to advise you of the best route to take but they will also be able to provide you with everything you need to make it happen. For a guide to speaking to a professional doctor, you can visit this site here.

Could You Use A Habit Tracker?
Finally, you need to think about whether or not a habit tracker will help you stay on track. On average, it takes 28 days to break a habit so creating a chart where you mark off how many days you have gone without sticking to your new healthy habit. If you slip up, you start again and keep tracking.
Do you want to break some of your bad habits? Is there anything you need to consider to ensure the process is as easy as it can be? Let me know your thoughts and ideas in the comments section below.

No Family Is Ever "Perfect"

There are few things in life more wonderful than starting a family. Being able to come together with the person you love the most to bring new life into the world is one of the most exciting things that you can ever do. But it's also pretty fair to say that having a family and raising a child are often seriously challenging.
The reality of parenthood and everything it entails is that there are plenty of things that the movies won't show you. That leaves a lot of people feeling as though they're somehow a failure because their family doesn't look or feel the way they think it should. However, that's not the way life works.

The truth is that there is no "perfect" family.

Every family is different
The most important thing to remember is that every single family is different which means that there is no single way to measure what's right and what's wrong. Sure, there are some things that everyone agrees on but the way that your family works often simply comes down to who you all are as people, both you, your partner and your kids. The moment that you remember that your family is unique and that means that the standards that you work to are unique as well, you're going to start feeling a whole lot better.

There are always challenges to face

There will be days where it feels like things are just never going to go right. This is something that's universal to just about every parent. The truth is that you don't have to treat these challenges as a sign of failure. Instead, you need to try your best to find ways to deal with them. Whether it's sleeping through the night, feeding, or the need for something like speech therapy for children, it's essential that you face those challenges. The one thing that you need to be sure that you don't do is to act as though the mere presence of these challenges means that you've somehow failed as a parent.

You can set your own rules
Now, this doesn't mean that you don't have to set rules and boundaries for your child, because of course you do! What it means is that the rules of what it is that actually constitutes a healthy and happy family aren't set in stone. Some people adopt, some raise children on their own. There is nothing to say that any of these situations are any less valid than a traditional family. That's the real truth of the matter: your family, your rules.

The truth is, you really don't need to listen to what anyone has to say about whether or not your family is the way that it's supposed to be. As long as you and your family are happy and healthy and living your lives the way that you want, that's all you can do. Obsessing over some mythical ideal version of family life is just going to leave you feeling frustrated and unhappy.

This Bread is Bananas

10/16/2019

As I sit here writing to the beat of Gwen Stefani's B-A-N-A-N-A-S, I am also allowing myself another piece of this delicious and best banana bread I have ever made. I was inspired by a recipe I saw on the Food Network after googling vegan banana bread recipes. In the hopes that this recipe will change your life (and hopefully mine once you tell all your friends and family), I have included an image and the recipe to this decadent and truly one of a kind Vegan Banana Bread.

Warning: Image will not do it justice as this vegan banana bread is not only delicious, but sexy as any photoshopped and professionally pictured image. Also, I added some definition to the photo. The color of the banana bread does look like this.
Picture
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of Oat Flour (blended oats)
1/2 cup of Coconut Flour
1/2 cup of All Purpose Flour (or flour of choice)
1  teaspoon of Baking Soda
1/2  teaspoon of Salt
3  medium ripe Bananas (mashed)
5  tablespoons of Coconut Sugar
5 tablespoons of Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons of Unsweetened Cacao Powder
1/2 cup of Applesauce (unsweetened)
3/8 cup of Coconut Oil
2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
1 teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract

Now that you have the ingredients, you can preheat your oven to 350°F.
Now to the Mixing:
Mix bananas, sugar, applesauce, oils, and vanilla in a one bowl.

Mix flours, baking soda, salt in another bowl.

Then, combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Use a spatula to avoid over mixing. We want to make sure there are still a few lumps in the batter. At this time you can add cacao nibs, crushed nuts, raisins, you name it!

Now, transfer the batter into a lightly sprayed loaf pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 350 °F.

(Note: Did I copy and paste the Farenheight sign from the internet? You will never know!)
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you... you're welcome.

How To Handle A Divorce

10/14/2019

We all hope that we’ll be with the person we marry forever, but alas, this isn’t always the case. While the percentage of marriages that end in divorce has been steadily dropping, it is still pretty high, and could happen to anyone. And of course, going through a divorce can be a traumatic, stressful experience. There are things we can do, however, that’ll make things easier to manage.
Picture
Let Yourself Feel
If you’re going through a divorce, then there’s no getting around it: things are going to suck for a while. Sometimes, people try to put on a brave face through the entire process, but this isn’t recommended! You can’t experience deeply felt emotions, and try to suppress them. If you’re not feeling OK, then allow yourself to feel that way. You’ll find it much easier to manage things in the long-term if you’re giving yourself thirty minutes to cry and scream every few days, rather than stifling everything and just carrying on as normal.

Surround Yourself with Friends
One of the toughest things about getting divorced is that it can make you feel lonely. You were once two, and now it’s only you. However, in reality, this is rarely the case. You probably have a lot of friends and family in your life, too. Sure, it’s not the same as having a partner, but you’re verifiably not alone in this world. Rather than just sitting in your home by yourself, surround yourself with loved ones. They might just provide the few nuggets of wisdom and laughs that you need to remember that the world can still be a beautiful place.

Involve the Professionals
You’re going through an emotional time. But alas, there are also some logistical matters that have to be handled. There’ll be financial issues, divorce paperwork, and legal matters related to any children you have, to name just a few. Rather than handling these things yourself, look at working with professional experts. You’ll find things much easier to manage if you’re working with someone who is a specialist in child support, filing divorce paperwork, and so on. You’ll be able to focus on yourself, secure in the knowledge that the important things are being taken care of.

Look After Yourself
There’ll be times when you just want to lie in bed all day. But it’s important that you don’t become too withdrawn. Looking after yourself, be it through getting exercise, starting hobbies, eating well, and so on will make it easier to move on after the divorce has been finalized. It’s akin to taking the first steps of a new journey. It might not be fun, but you’ll be traveling to a good place.

This Too Will Pass
Finally, remember that even though things suck, it won’t be like this forever! Time really does heal all wounds. Be patient, treat yourself well, and you’ll see.

5 Ways To Reduce Anxiety Naturally

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions and millions of people suffer with it worldwide. There’s no cure as such for anxiety, but there are certain things that people can do to help alleviate their worries and symptoms. Here are 5 natural ways you could reduce anxiety.

  1. Exercise
Exercise is a fantastic way to promote the release of endorphins in the body, which can make you feel good, improving your mood and reducing anxiety. Almost any form of physical activity can help with anxiety symptoms from rock climbing to power walking, skiing through to yoga - there’s a type of exercise out there for everyone. If you haven’t exercised for a long time or have any medical conditions that may stop you from exercising then it’s advisable to speak to a doctor before taking up a new activity,

  2. Kava
Kava (sometimes also referred to as Kava Kava) is a type of root with quite strong sedative properties proven to alleviate not only the symptoms of anxiety but anxious thoughts too. Often taken as a tea, Kava has been used as a natural remedy for stress and anxiety for a long time but due to its potency, it is advised to speak with a doctor before taking it, especially if you are taking any other medications or regularly consume alcohol.

  3. CBD
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a wondrous compound found in the cannabis plant that has been proven to help alleviate anxiety. CBD in itself produced no high effects, that’s it’s sister compound, THC, and so CBD isn’t illegal. CBD is often isolated as an oil and then infused into balms, creams, vape liquid to be ingested, but it is also sometimes put into edibles, you can find these kinds of products on websites such as Cannabismo, just be careful to only purchase the ones with CBD and not THC.

  4. Meditation and mindfulness
It can be very hard for our minds to live in the present and find balance, and with so many thoughts rushing through our heads things can get a bit hectic. This and the fact that we live in such a fast-paced digital age makes it so important to try and practice mindfulness and meditation to help the mind take a break. A good place to start is by downloading a mindfulness or meditation app on your phone which will help guide you through the process until you are able to take yourself into a mindful and meditative state on your own.

  5. Spend time around an emotional support animal
The difference between managable and unmanageable anxiety could be as simple as owning a pet. An emotional support animal can provide help with a number of conditions including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder and provide comfort by simply being present. If you think your pet helps to alleviate your anxiety then you may be able to register them as an emotional support animal which will enable them to be treated as a service dog and accompany you anywhere including on flights, in restaurants and in hotels.
