Career Options That Show You Care

1/26/2017

So, you’re thinking about careers? Maybe you’re done with college and wondering where to go. Or, perhaps you haven’t gone to college yet, and are wondering what subjects to take. Choosing a career is never easy, especially when you’re fresh out of education. Even so, making a wise choice now will make life easier. Have you been toying with a career involving care? Do you want to make a positive difference in someone’s life? You’ve come to the right place! A job that makes a difference is the most satisfying thing any of us can consider. Here are some options you should take note of!
Picture

MEDICAL PROFESSION
We’re starting with the big guns. What career makes more of a difference than one which involves saving lives? Being a doctor, or nurse can be hugely rewarding. You’ll be making a difference to hundreds of people each day. You’ll hold life in your hands. Bear in mind that you’re going to have to work long, and sometimes unsociable, hours to make this job work. Plus, you’re going to have to consider university. Whether you want to be a neonatal nurse or a heart surgeon, some training is going to be necessary. Learn about neonatal nurse education or medical school, and see whether it’s a goal you could achieve!

TEACHING
They may say that those who can’t, become teachers, but that’s far from the truth. Helping to shape the minds of future generations is an incredible opportunity. You’ll be working with some inspiring young people, who may teach you a thing or two as well! Again, there are qualifications involved. Decide whether you want to teach primary, secondary, or even college level. The higher up you get, the more specialised your studies are going to have to be. If you’re passionate about a subject, this could be the perfect chance to develop the skill and spread your love!

SOCIAL WORKER
Another option well worth your time is that of a social worker. There are many children out there who need help in their home life. There are also many children who no longer have a home life to depend on. As a social worker, you’ll become their first port of call. It’ll be your responsibility to ensure the children who have a bad start, get a better chance the second time round! Seeing an unhappy child flourish in a new family is life changing. And, it could all be down to you!

CARE WORK
Of course, no list of caring careers would be complete without mention of care work. Whether caring for the elderly, or disabled, there’s always need for care workers. The best part about this job is that you can make a difference, and train on the job. For the most part, care jobs don’t call for qualifications at starting level. If you’re burning to get going, this could be the route for you. You could study for qualifications on the job, and set yourself up for the future that way!

Let’s Stick Together: Solving Common Relationship Problems

1/26/2017

Even the most picture-perfect relationships have their problems. If you meet a couple who claims that their relationship is perfect, they’ve either only been together for a very short time, or they’re lying! The good news is that relationship problems do not have to spell the end of a love affair – even the biggest problems can be fixed if you’re willing to work on it.

If you’re serious about sticking together, take a look at these tricky relationship problems and how you can solve them:

Picture
No Communication
When you first get together with someone new, talking is easy. You want to get to know your new beau, and you each have an endless stream of questions for each other. Too soon, this peters out, and you might find yourself struggling to say anything at all.

Luckily, this is an easy problem to solve! If you’ve run out of things to say, start doing new things. Unique experiences, either together or apart, will give you plenty to talk about when you come together as a couple.

Lack of Trust
If you and your partner do not have trust for one another, it is inevitable that your relationship will be marred by paranoia, jealousy and plenty of raised voices. Trust is not always an easy thing to have, especially if you’ve been bunt in the past. So, if you are unable to trust your partner, even though they have done nothing wrong, you might want to visit http://www.symmetrycounseling.com/ to look into couple’s counselling.

Jealousy
Related to a lack of trust, jealousy is a huge problem that can so easily rip a couple apart. Whether you are jealous about your partner’s fabulous career, or the attention they get from the opposite sex if you’re jealous it’s unlikely your relationship will relax.

To get over jealousy, you first need to build trust in your partner (see above), then you need to take a look at yourself. Are you jealous because you lack self-esteem? Do you feel like you’re not good enough? It’s not fair to take these issues court on your partner, and it is something you need to work on.

Jealousy can be a tough nut to crack, but what it boils down to is putting your faith in your partner and relationship, giving up comparisons between yourself and others and not imagining the worst when you have no reason to do so.

Lack of Interest in Sex
After the honeymoon period is over, one or both partners might lose their interest in sex. If this happens, it is important not to put any pressure on yourself or your partner, but you should not give up either. Try new things in the bedroom, act out your fantasies, do anything that will make sex interesting again and you will soon be back to your usual sensual selves.

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, a relationship is just not meant to be, and it is important you recognise this. If you put your heart and soul into fixing your relationship, but it stays broken, it may just be time to move on.

The Finishing Touches: The Little Wedding Jobs That Can't Be Forgotten

Organizing and orchestrating a wedding can be a very challenging job. You have loads of things to do and think about, it’s hard to remember everything. But, one little thing forgotten could ruin the day! So, it’s really worth trying to remember them. To help you out and to get the juices flowing, this post will go through some of the little things that are easily forgotten when planning a wedding.

Of course, a wedding isn’t a wedding without guests. And, guests won’t come unless you invite them. It’s traditional to give people invites to your wedding nice and early. This gives people time to prepare for the big day, and get back to you if they can’t make it. But, first, you need to design some wedding invitations. They should always be classy and represent you as a couple. The general feel of the wedding should be captured in the invitation. Make sure that you always include details so that people can RSVP and let you know if they’re going to be coming along or not. Some people like to get creative with this part of their wedding. And, when it comes to invites, the sky is really the limit.
Picture
Weddings can have a great aesthetic. But, to achieve this, you need to have your guests coordinated, as well. If you choose to have a dress code that everyone is supposed to follow, you can’t be too specific. A lot of people won’t want to have to buy new clothes for an event like this. Choosing a group of colours or scrapping formalwear altogether can be a great way to get everyone looking similar. This is an area where a lot of people suffer disappointment. Whenever there’s a dress code, someone is sure to break it. This means that you’re almost certainly going to have one or two odd ones in the mix. But, this will only make for a more memorable day.
Picture

The food at a wedding is usually a great talking point. It’s very easy to get food wrong when feeding so many people. So, it’s best to go for options that a wide group of people like. If you present food that people won’t enjoy, they’ll feel uncomfortable and won’t remember the right part of the day. Buffets have a lot of success at weddings. You don’t need to provide loads of options; but having some choice will make people feel much better. This gives you the chance to have people try new things and also the things that they already know. Some people can’t stand eating fancy food!
Picture

Hopefully, this will help you to remember some more of the little things that you have to do for your big day. A lot of the time, remembering things like this is a matter of writing a big list. So, make sure that you’re using all of the tools are your disposal to get everything planned. This could make things much easier. And, of course, don’t worry too much.

Most people will remember your big day as one of joy and fun; regardless of the little things.

A Survival Guide For Introverts Contemplating College

1/24/2017

College is the best time of your life. You have your youth, your future ahead of you and your mind awash with the potential to learn. That's the part you're okay with.

Then there's the social side. Pledging; parties; meeting new people and sharing your life story with the people who may ultimately become your best friend. Most college websites are full of photos of people hugging, beaming into the camera at what look like parties of the whole campus.

For most, that's exciting. A chance to meet new people. But for the introvert, it's almost a threat. You will meet new people. You will converse with them. You will run the gauntlet every day, finishing your days exhausted, head aching and needing to sit in silence for half an hour before you start studying.

For introverts, the presence of other people is all well and good - up to a point. The fundamental difference that separates them the introverts from the extroverts is that other people drain an introvert, sapping their energy. For an extrovert, the opposite is true, and they get their energy from others. They can handle college fine, but can introverts?

If you're due to start college and are wondering how you can handle it as an introvert, then you need a
survival guide.

Survival Tip 1: Don't Overload Yourself
In the initial few weeks, the buzz can be to so intense you get swept away. You're talked into signing up to every group going. You visit a sorority, and you're already bookmarking the likes of Something Greek. You make plans with new friends. You think you're handling it.
Picture
Image Link
Then the point comes in the middle of the semester when it's clear you're not handling it. Introversion will always out, even if it is temporarily swallowed by new-college excitement. Try and limit your activities to two per week, giving you room for the alone time you will inevitably crave.
Survival Tip 2: Studying Is Your Best Excuse
If you need time alone, don't try and explain that to new friends - particularly if they're extroverts. They won't understand that it's not a slight on them if you take time away from them. Luckily, you have the best excuse right in front of you: you need to study.
Picture
Image Link
People are more likely to understand this is a pursuit that requires alone time. They might try and cajole you to put it off, but ultimately, it's why you're at college. So use it as an excuse any time you need - and you never know, you might actually end up using your alone time to study.

Survival Tip 3: Plan To Go Home
Not all students go home during the first semester, but it's worth considering if you're an introvert. College is a good time for finding yourself, but a break can make it easier. Going home gives you peace and quiet with people more likely to understand your need for private space.

Picture
Image Link
You can tell new friends there is a family wedding, then tell your family back home you have to study while you're there. In two white lies, you've bought yourself a bit more time to breathe.

Beyond The Cap, Gown & Scroll: Make Your Graduation Great!

1/20/2017

Graduating from college is an amazing accomplishment and one that you should be very proud of. It doesn’t matter what major you chose or what your plans are for the future, you’ve made it - you’re going to be a graduate, congratulations (and a bottle of bubbly) are definitely in order.

Although getting to don a cap and gown and go on stage and collect a scroll is exciting, there’s more to your graduation than that. It’s a big day - the day you graduate - so you should make the most of every second of it.

The chances are that your parents probably have a couple of surprises in store for you, after all, it’s not every day that you graduate, is it? However, it’s still a good idea to put a plan in place to ensure that your graduation day is as memorable as you always dreamt it would be.
Picture

Pick the perfect outfit
Your graduation photos will be something that you treasure for many years to come, so you want to ensure that you are wearing the perfect outfit in them. It needs to be smart, stylish, and flattering, and something that will work well under a graduation robe. Make sure to take into account the color of the graduation robes that you will be wearing, to ensure that you pick an outfit that matches. As for your shoes, select a pair that are stylish and easy to walk in - the last thing you want is to faceplant the stage when collecting your diploma.

Follow traditions
Graduation is all about traditions, so it’s important to make sure that you follow any that are important to you, your family, or your school. The traditions in place differ from college to college and from family to family. Some of the most common ones, however, include wearing a lei during graduation, throwing your hat in the air after you’ve graduated, and shaking hands with the Dean of the college.
Make the most of your graduation ceremony
Use your graduation ceremony to catch up with friends and professors. Go around saying hello to all your old coursemates, take photos, drink the free champagne, and have a great time. Graduation is meant to be one of the most fun and exciting days of your life, so make sure to make the most of it. Make sure to get some professional photos of you and your family, so that you will always have them as a keepsake.

Head out afterward
Don’t let the celebrations end once your ceremony does, make plans to head out afterward and spend some time celebrating. Why not plan a meal with all of your nearest and dearest, so that you can celebrate with everyone at once? Or, what about asking your parents if you can have a party? (You knew know, they might already be planning one!) After your meal or party is over, head out to see your friends and carry the party on - graduation is the perfect excuse for partying, don’t you think?

There’s more to graduating than the cap, gown, and scroll, and it’s important to understand that.
Make the most of your graduation, as you’ll only graduate once!

Pretty Shiny - SOS Tips To Rock The Glitter Fashion With Style

1/12/2017

The glitter fashion simply seems to last forever, and with good reason. After all, don’t you want to shine like a star from time to time? But there can be such a thing as too much glitter, gold, and shiny fashion, however unbelievable this can be. Have a glitter accessory and you’re trendy and cool. Pull a full on shine outfit and people look at you like you are some mad person who escaped from the local circus. So, what is the right amount of glitter and how to rock it like a pro? This is what this article is about!

Let Your Makeup Make A Glittery Statement

Picture
If you don’t fancy investing in a new piece of garment for your wardrobe, using the appropriate makeup can help you to make a stylish glitter statement. Statement here is the most important word: Remember that less is more with glitter. You have plenty of great options to spice up your makeup bags, starting with shiny nails for a playful touch. When working with nails you don’t need to overdo it: Using a dark glitter would do if you are feeling shy, or simply follow the current nail trends by using multiple colors, so that you could glitz up two of your nails and tone the effect down with neutral or dark natural colors on the other nails. For shiny eye or lip makeup, remember that this is the kind of fashion statement that you can use for a night out. It’s not exactly office wear, as you would have guessed, but it’s still great fun from time to time to let your inner diva spring out!

The Jewelry That Says Look At Me

When you are playing with a jewelry accessory, be careful to use it at its best: The glitter jewelry is there to spice up your outfit, but you will need your clothes to respond to the shade or shape of your bracelet, ring or necklace. Accessorizing is a two-way conversation: it’s not about adding nice jewelry to turn a boring outfit into a glorious winner, but it’s about the right jewelry for you. While
Picture

there are a lot of options to buy inexpensive and cute jewelry, there is also a more significant type of jewelry that shines in the sun: Diamonds. While they are not specifically part of the glitter fashion, a diamond ring can, for example, make your shiny dress work for a night of celebrations or a fancy date in a restaurant. Don’t worry if diamonds are not for you. Whether you find them too precious to wear or you don’t like the feeling on your skin, you can sell loose diamonds to make the most of the glitter fashion your way!

Wear It Shiny

Picture

Glitter fashion, when it comes to your wardrobe, can easily escalate until it becomes too much. Even though magazines have a tendency to overdo their fashion pages with shining clothes, you should always remember to use glitter sporadically when possible. For example, if you have shiny shoes, do make sure to pair them with a black or neutral pair of trousers if you want to be able to wear
your favorite glitz during the daytime. For an evening out, you can feel free to wear a shiny dress, assuming you keep it classy with a natural makeup and simple shoes.

So You Want To Get Into Teaching?

1/6/2017

If you are still considering which career path to go down, I have a very worthy suggestion for you -

teaching!

Picture

If you have never considered becoming a teacher before, it is maybe time that you gave this very rewarding profession some thought. There are multiple reasons why it is a great job to go into. Firstly, you will be shaping young people’s futures, and helping them to develop and grow. Secondly, you will find that each and every day will be very fulfilling, and you will feel like you are giving
something very important back to the community!

Wondering how exactly you can bag your dream teaching job? It isn’t as hard as you might think. Here are the steps you need to take.

Study Hard

Go To College

You need to make sure that you are always working to the best of your ability throughout the rest of your time at school. Don’t give up and start slacking. Otherwise, you just won’t get the grades that you need to go on to college and then do your teacher training. So be sure to put your head down and always try your hardest. After all, you need to know all your subjects inside out if you want to go on to teach young children all these subjects!
After you have graduated from high school, you need to go to college or university. This is so you can do your teacher training. The most common route into teaching is to take a college or university course in it. This will cover all the basics and help you to become a great teacher. If you want to teach elementary school pupils, you will be given training in all the basic subjects, including math, English, and science. If you want to go into high school as a teacher, you will need to pick a speciality and focus on that subject during your course.

Get Work Experience

Some courses will include some work experience in local schools. These are great at giving you a taster of what it is like being a teacher. If your college or university do not offer any work experiences or internships, you should see about doing some part-time work or volunteer at a local school during your spare time. Rather than juggle this work experience with your studies, you could also work for a term as a teaching assistant after you have graduated, and before you find a job. There are lots of teaching assistant courses online, including on Simply Education.

As you can see, getting into a career in teaching isn’t particularly difficult. You just need to know the route you need to go down. As well as that, you should also be very prepared to put in a lot of hard work. If you do everything to your best ability, you will find a teaching job with no problems. And you will soon realize just how fun and rewarding being a teacher and working with kids is!

The Not-So-Impossible Task Of Finding The Perfect Career

1/4/2017

Whether you’re currently studying at university or you’re choosing what to study at university, don’t let the prospect of careers overwhelm you. It isn’t such a daunting or scary task if you’re determined to succeed. Knowing what you want is the only hard part. Once you’ve figured that out, you can make everything else work for you. But, remember there’s no pressure to know what you want out of life today. It’s a continuous, ever-changing process - you might want something else in 5 years. Choosing a new career is always an option.
Picture

Network with
people.

Choose a degree which could set you up for life.

Yes, it might seem boring, and the majority of people might have nothing to do with any area of business in which you’re interested. However, it’s worth it for that one shot with that one perfect company.

Networking is important, even in the digital age. In fact, networking is important especially in the digital age. Job sites are incredible, but they only show you the tip of the iceberg. They show you the jobs that employers have chosen to list online, but there are thousands of unlisted jobs out there; jobs that only are only known to those within the company.

If you want a chance at grabbing one of these internal jobs, the best way to do so is to “wow” some big-shot at a networking event. If they like you, they might just let you know about that job you didn’t see online. They might just reserve a place for you at the end of your degree.

Don’t let the
“not knowing”
get on top of you.

It’s easy to value unvalued or undervalued as a student who’s inexperienced in the working world, but don’t let the overwhelming task of finding a career path get you down. You don’t have to know everything, and most people with full-time jobs are still uncertain about what they want to do in the future.
This is absolutely key to your career. Of course, it’s important to remember that you’re never trapped. You may be young or you be a mature student; either way, your degree doesn’t define you. You may change your path later in life. A degree is simply a statement; it tells employers that you can work hard, that you’ve researched something for a certain number of years, and you’ve succeeded at the end of it.

That being said, some degrees open a wide array of doors, and if you have the perfect career in mind, it might be worth considering the perfect university degree subject for that general industry area. There’s always some wiggle room, whatever degree you do. There are accounting degrees and certifications out there which could open a huge number of doors for you when it comes to applying for jobs. The technique, if you really want to acquire the career of your dreams, is to never narrow your choices. There will be rejections down the line, because every field is so competitive that businesses have to turn away amazing or even perfect employees every single day. There are just too many perfect candidates. You have to increase your chances and strengthen the possibility that you’ll be hired within 2 months, rather than 2 years.

If you ensure that you’re choosing a degree with high employability rates, you’ll have more opportunities with a greater number of employers, so, even if a high number of them reject your application or you don’t make the cut at most of the interviews, you’ve increased the likelihood of at least one saying, “yes, you’ve got the job.” Whether your first job is the number one option for you or not, it’s just another step towards that perfect career.

Everything is a stepping stone, and nothing is permanent.
Take all the experience you can out of the world, and
use it to your advantage.

Put Your New Man To The Test To See If He's Right For You

1/4/2017

Picture

The world can be a lonely place without someone to love. While it’s important you learn to love yourself, it’s also important to win the love of someone else. Though necessary, relationships can be hard to navigate. If you’re just starting out, it’s natural to wonder whether this guy is the one. After all, you’re still getting to know each other. Even so, the sooner you work out whether he’s the one, the better. The longer you let a relationship continue, the harder it can be when things end. We’ve got a list of things to consider when thinking about your new man. If he ticks these boxes, you can be sure he’s a winner.

GOOD CONVERSATION

It’s no good having a man you can’t talk to. How well conversation flows is a sign of how much you and your man have in common. If you don’t have much to say, it may be a sign you’re not interested in the same things. If that’s the case, there’s not much you can do to rescue the situation. Thinking in the long-term, you can’t spend your life with a man you have nothing to say to. And no, it doesn’t matter how attractive he is! If you and your man can’t stop talking every time you meet up, it’s a good sign for sure!

Picture

YOU CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF HIS COMPANY

At the start of your relationship, you’ll want to spend as much time with your man as possible. If you can’t get enough of his company, he might be the one. If you find you need a break from him, or don’t want to see him as much as he wants to see you, call it a day. Enjoying his company is good, but wanting to spend every moment with him is essential if things are going to work. After all, you’re going to have to spend a lot of time with him as your relationship goes on. If you want to get away from him now, how do you think you’ll feel in a year’s time?

COMPATIBILITY TESTS

Not everyone believes in the power of compatibility tests, but they can put your mind at ease. You might want to consider doing online name quizzes, or star sign tests. If star signs interest you, you could even check your horoscope on sites like Astro Style and see if it says anything about your new man! Any mentions could help you make up your mind.

THE TEST OF TIME

Nothing can judge whether your man is right better than the test of time. Even a guy who seems perfect can fall apart as the months go by. No one is as good as you first think they are, and your guy is bound to let you down along the line. What matters is how he comes back from that. It’s just not possible to know that kind of thing from the off. Give it time and see how the relationship develops!
