Action Films for the Right of Entertainment? We've Got a New One Coming

Planning ahead for the next intensifying thriller? We've got a new one for you. Written by John Swab and Santiago Manes Moreno, the new action thriller, Long Gone Heroes is just a few weeks away. Directed by John Swab, the film follows Gunner (played by Frank Grillo), a special forces soldier who has witnessed the darkest side of country and combat when he is forced back into the field of battle to save his niece (a reporter), who is being held in South America. As the fight intensifies, Gunner and his team discover that her disappearance is part of a corrupt private operation that hits way too close to home. Also starring are Josh Hutcherson, Eden Brolin, Mekhi Phifer, Melissa Leo, and Andy Garcia.

Synopsis:
In 1992, Mercer (Tyrese Gibson) is desperately trying to rebuild his life and his relationship with his son (Christopher A’mmanuel) amidst the turbulent 1992 LA uprising following the Rodney King verdict. Across town, another father and son (Ray Liotta and Scott Eastwood) put their own strained relationship to the test as they plot a dangerous heist to steal catalytic converters, which contain valuable platinum, from the factory where Mercer works. As tensions rise in Los Angeles and chaos erupts, both families reach their boiling points when they collide in this tense crime-thriller.

Prime Video Releases First Look Images and Cast for 'Pimpinero: Blood and Oil'

Prime Video released the first look images and cast for Pimpinero: Blood and Oil, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos, The Hidden Face).The film marks Baiz’ triumphant return to the big screen after a successful career directing global series. Pimpinero: Blood and Oil explores the powerful and universal themes of borders and family bonds, making it a must-watch for audiences around the world. The highly celebrated cast includes Alberto Guerra (Griselda), Alejandro Speitzer (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta), Laura Osma (Goles en contra) and multi-award winning Grammy® artist Juanes.

The announcement comes as Pimpinero: Blood and Oil is officially selected to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival, with its World Premiere on September 9th. The movie is part of the international Centerpiece program lineup at TIFF and set to launch on Prime Video later this year.

Pimpinero: Blood and Oil is set in the desert bordering Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers known as “pimpineros” risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another. When Juan – the youngest in a clan of three brothers entangled in this perilous trade – is forced to work for a sinister rival, the underbelly of the business is laid bare with tragic consequences. Determined to uncover the gruesome secrets that shroud this no-man’s-land, Juan’s girlfriend Diana embarks on a quest for the truth.

The film is produced by production company Dynamo. It’s written by María Camila Arias (Birds of Passage) and directed, written and produced by Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos, The Hidden Face). The production team includes Andrés Calderón (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta, Narcos) as a producer and Cyndi Rojas (Mile 22) as an associate producer.

'The Duel' Makes its Way to Digital and On Demand

Taking it back to the good times with a film set for pure entertainment. Here's another one for the comedy and drama seekers. The Duel will be available on Digital and On Demand August 16, 2024. Here's a quick synopsis.

Upon discovering that his best friend, Colin (Sprouse), has been having an affair with his girlfriend, Woody (Mcauliffe) decides that no modern form of revenge could possibly satisfy him. Instead, Woody challenges his closest companion to a classic contest of honor – a gentleman’s duel to the death. When two of their friends join the act, the once inseparable group of men inch closer to the day of destiny and test the bonds of their relationship until the moment of no return.

Written and directed by Justin Matthews (Upgraded, “The Morning Show”) and Luke Spencer Roberts (Upgraded), The Duel bring both comedy and drama to its audience. With actors Dylan Sprouse, Callan Mcauliffe, Denny Love, Hart Denton, María Gabriela De Faría, Rachel Matthews, Christian Mcgaffney, Ronald Guttman, and Patrick Warburton, the story was brought to life for audiences to view this August.

El Documental, 'Pepe Serna: Life Is Art' Llega a Plataformas Digitales

La vida del legendario actor hollywoodense y reconocido artista visual Pepe Serna llegará al gran público en Pepe Serna: Life Is Art, un documental de una hora dirigido por Luis Reyes que se estrenará en las plataformas digitales el 21 de febrero de 2024. Relatado por el mismo Serna, el documental sigue la dilatada carrera y vida del artista, y ofrece una oportunidad única para que los espectadores descubran aspectos hasta ahora nunca conocidos de su travesía.

Con más de 100 películas y créditos televisivos en su haber, su interpretación más conocida llegó de la mano de Scarface, donde compartió pantalla con Al Pacino y dio vida al icónico personaje de Ángel Fernández, cuya muerte se convirtió en una de las más memorables de la historia del cine.
