'Chuchi & Adaliz,' a Buddy Comedy of Two Very Different AfroPuerto Ricans Living in the Bay Area

Created by Ashley Soto Paniagua and Dani Adaliz,  Chuchi & Adaliz is a buddy comedy set in the Bay area. The five episode single-camera digital series follows childhood besties who, despite having a shared racial and ethnic identity as AfroPuerto Ricans, couldn’t be more different than each other as adults. When Adaliz loses her high powered corporate job in San Francisco and moves in with Chuchi in Oakland, the audience watches avatars of San Francisco (Adaliz) and Oakland (Chuchi) and how their socioeconomic differences shape behavior, as San Francisco is 54.4% more expensive to live in than Oakland. They're in for a rude awakening when they realize that what brought them together as kids isn't enough to keep them together as adults.

The series stars Ashley Soto Paniagua, Dani Adaliz, Andrea Bashe, Kathryn Peters, Jocelli Paniagua, Selorm Kploanyi, Dariany Santana, Jeremy Habig, Auri Jackson, Brendan Fizgibbons, and Jullian Farris. Written by Ashley Soto Paniagua and Dani Adaliz, Chuchi & Adaliz was directed by Dani Adaliz (episodes 1, 2, 4 & 5) and Lance Cameron  Holloway (episode 3).

With music by  Trackademicks, the series was edited by Guillermo Zouian, Fabyan German, and Victoria Linares. Ernesto Prieto was Director of Photography, and the comedy was produced by Jocelli Paniagua, Heidi Williamson, Ashley Soto Paniagua, and Dani Adaliz.
