Body confidence is an alien term to most of us. When somebody seems comfortable in their own skin, you might be inclined to believe that they must be lying to themselves. Most of us instinctively berate ourselves when we stare in the mirror. 

It’s impossible to ignore tiny flaws; we’re talking about those flaws that even our closest family members and friends seem to miss.

Learn to look at your body.
An important way to gain body confidence is to simply learn to look at your body. This might seem like a strange piece of advice, but many people who feel self-conscious about their appearance end up shying away from the mirror. If you find yourself unable to look at your body often, then it’s time to change that. A big part of feling comfortable in your own skin is learning to embrace and love your natural appearance. Look in the mirror once every day for about 5 minutes. List some positive attributes with regards to your body. This will help to change your negative thinking. Make your wardrobe work for you.
The next step to achieving body confidence is to approach those scary wardrobe doors which you might dread opening every day. The key to looking and feeling good in your appearance is to make your wardrobe work for you (and not the other way around). Stop hiding away under your clothes. Body size doesn’t matter. Everybody comes in different shapes and sizes; take a good long look at people you see in public. Nobody looks the same. But the confident people are the ones who dress in a way that makes them feel confident and powerful.

That’s your goal. Or, at least, that should be your goal. You need to wear outfits that are well-suited to the shape of your body (known as a ‘fawning outfit’). You might want to get yourself some leggings; that would complement the natural appearance of your legs, regardless of their shape. Leggings are flatting from every angle. You might also want to turn loose and shapeless outfits into attire that accentuates your natural body shape. For instance, coupling your dress with a nice belt could help to hug it into your waistline and really showcase your figure. You’ll start to feel more confident in your appearance if you embrace it. Make sure your wardrobe is suited to the way you look and feel.
