JUST RELEASED: A SPACE TO PROMOTE TURISM AND BUSINESS TO THE ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO
Puerto Rico creates the right impact in New York City with a new space in the heart of Manhattan. This interactive space, located at the office of Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, will feature videos of destinations and adventures you can only find in the Caribbean Island.
Secretary of Economic Development & Commerce Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Alberto Bacó Bagué explained, "This location offers a great space where we can create productive ties with other markets and countries." Bagué also said that this new venture will contribute to the message that "Puerto Rico is in fact the ideal destination for the best business opportunities, investments, tourism, and entertainment."
Located on 51 street, the storefront will also serve as an exhibition area for local businesses to promote their products and services. The space (as seen in the photos) is a design by architect Warren James (from Arecibo, P.R.) and the furniture was manufactured by the Factoría in Santurce, P.R.
The first exhibit to be presented at the storefront is titled, Destination Weddings, and it's dedicated to the island as the ultimate destination to celebrate that special day.
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to taste Rums of Puerto Rico. Pedro Cuéllar, Program Director of Rums of Puerto Rico, said "We want people to come to the space and see why we are the world capital of rum and celebrate Puerto Rican rum. Rum production is one of our strongest industries."
After the display of Destination Weddings, which will be extended until December 19, Chocolate Cortés will use the holiday season to offer their hot chocolate free. Other activities and exhibitions will be added for the holidays.
