The popular novel, now a major motion picture, The Fault in our Stars has elevated the emotions of teenagers and young adults across the globe. Written by John Green, Fault in Our Stars follows the story of Hazel Grace, a young girl who in her struggles as a teenager with cancer falls slowly in love with Augustus Waters, and then all at once.

This well-balanced teenage romance takes the reader into an unforgettable journey of life and love. While managing the stress of a not so ordinary life, Hazel finds that hope is not lost. She is supported by friendship and love, throughout one of the most difficult times of her life.

The novel, which has sold over nine million copies had many wondering if the film would in fact live up the expectations of readers. While many readers anxiously waited on the release of the film, fans say the wait was worthwhile. Overall, the book and film were quite at sync; both established the meaning of love and friendship. Fans of the book who saw the movie are quite fond of both.

“The Fault in our Stars was by far one of the best romantic comedies I’ve ever read and seen. It [the movie] captured just about every detail in the book. I loved it,” said Loraine Raven. She wasn’t alone. Her friend Stephanie Beth Hernandez also had a lot to say.
"Once you start reading, you just can't let go of the book. It's that good! It's so emotional."          -Shekina Gonzalez of Iconic Chica
“…The most amazing love story of our generation, way better than Twilight. John Green taught me that you should cherish and live everyday like it’s your last. I honestly loved the book and thought that the movie was going to ruin it, but it did not. The movie was absolutely perfect. For my surprise, I fell in love with this story the way Hazel fell in love with Augustus… Slowly, then all at once.”

The novel itself was a thrilling emotional ride as Hazel Grace took us through her life with the remarkably unique Augusts Waters. This breathtaking romantic drama displays a series of real life situations along with a debatable love story. Cancer survivors have been united by a meeting in a group. They share the most beloved thoughts, deep talks and emotions. Augustus and Hazel fall deeply in love after months of knowing each other. An impeccable time lapse causes bumps along their road of friendship. The story is filed with emotional twists and thrilling turn of events. Personally, it was an inevitable page-turner! I read the book in two days, even with my busy school schedule.

Similarly, the film had many on the edge of their seats. As I took a glimpse of the people around me, it was all smiles from start to finish (with a few tears here and there). Thumbs up to the screenwriters who truly honored John Green’s book!

The Fault in our Stars has been the most entertaining piece of literature and outstanding film for viewers of any age.

    "Live"

    by Jessica G Ferrer
    Think of the painted lady.
Its short lived life is colorful,
    It's bright.
    Unless interrupted, it carries on.
    It flies...

Fulfilling its one and only short lived life. "
